Mechanical Services (Vessel Cleaning Lead Technician)

About this role

Leads vessel cleaning and related mechanical activities in Lagos, planning and coordinating cleaning work to approved procedures and inspecting vessels to determine requirements and methods. The role involves supervising crews and coordinating with operations, maintenance, inspection, QA/QC and HSE teams, and maintaining records for oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical or process industries.

What you would do

• Lead and supervise vessel cleaning and related mechanical activities
• Plan and coordinate cleaning work according to approved procedures and work schedules
• Inspect vessels to determine cleaning requirements, access needs and work methods
• Supervise removal of sludge, deposits, hydrocarbons and other contaminants
• Coordinate preparation of vessels for inspection, maintenance and return to service, including isolation, draining and ventilation
• Coordinate with operations, mechanical maintenance, inspection, QA/QC and HSE teams.

What they are asking for

• OND, HND, technical certificate or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Plant Maintenance or related discipline
• Significant experience in vessel, tank, equipment or industrial cleaning within oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical or process industry
• Practical experience with mechanical equipment cleaning and maintenance activities
• Knowledge of confined-space entry, gas testing, isolation/LOTO, pressure washing, vacuum systems and hazardous-material handling
• Experience supervising technicians, contractors and field crews
• Ability to interpret basic mechanical drawings, vessel layouts, procedures and work packs
