About this role
Lead hydrotesting activities for piping systems, pipelines, pressure vessels, tanks and other pressure-containing equipment in Lagos. Develop and execute hydrotest plans and test packages, and coordinate with mechanical, piping, QA/QC, construction, commissioning and operations teams to ensure compliance with procedures, project specifications and codes.
What you would do
- Lead hydrotesting activities for piping systems, pipelines, pressure vessels, tanks and other pressure-containing equipment.
- Develop and execute hydrotest plans, procedures and test packages.
- Coordinate hydrotesting with mechanical, piping, QA/QC, construction, commissioning and operations teams.
- Lead toolbox talks and ensure compliance with PTW, JSA, LOTO and pressure-testing safety requirements.
- Verify that test equipment, pumps, hoses, gauges, fittings and temporary connections are suitable and certified.
- Supervise system preparation, flushing, filling, pressurisation, testing, depressurisation and reinstatement, including isolation of test sections.
What they are asking for
- HND or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in hydrotesting, mechanical construction, piping, commissioning or maintenance in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, pressure testing, hydrotest procedures and mechanical completion activities.
- Experience with piping test packs, P&IDs, isometric drawings, line lists and pressure-test documentation.
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 and relevant project specifications.
- Ability to work on construction sites, refineries, petrochemical plants or offshore facilities.
