Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Officer

About this role

Stockgap Fuels Limited is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/Officer to support maintenance across plant mechanical equipment in its downstream oil and gas operations. The role is based in Abuja and targets individuals with hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within oil, gas or LPG environments. The company is expanding its LPG business and operates multiple storage and cylinder filling facilities. The position involves preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, safety procedures, and fault analysis to maximise equipment uptime.

What you would do

• Assist in calibration and safety certification of pressure vessels and relief valves
• Requisition spare parts and maintain equipment history logs
• Enforce LOTO and Permit-to-Work safety protocols
• Perform root-cause analysis on mechanical breakdowns
• Support valve maintenance on the cylinder line
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on process equipment and storage vessels
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on equipment and vessels
• Maintain and service pumps, compressors, valves, piping and weighbridges
• Document maintenance activities and outcomes
• Collaborate with other maintenance and operations staff to ensure uptime

• 3–5 years’ hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in oil & gas or LPG facilities
