Mechanical Installation Engineer
About this role
IGPES Group, a Nigerian oil and gas services company based in Lagos, is looking for a Mechanical Installation Engineer. The role involves installing, assembling, testing and commissioning mechanical equipment and systems, interpreting drawings and manuals, inspecting installations, and performing preventive maintenance. The engineer will work with project teams, maintain installation records and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards. The position targets candidates with a mechanical engineering or related qualification and 2-3 years of relevant hands-on installation experience. Certifications in mechanical installation or equipment maintenance are a plus.
What you would do
- Install, assemble, test and commission mechanical equipment and systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals and technical specifications.
- Inspect installed equipment and resolve installation faults.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project personnel and maintain accurate installation records.

- BSc, HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Practical experience in mechanical installation, assembly, testing and commissioning.
- Relevant certifications in mechanical installation or equipment maintenance are an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.
- Good knowledge of mechanical tools, installation procedures and workplace safety.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Willingness to work in field or site environments when required.
