About this role
A New Hotel is looking for a Mechanical / HVAC Technician to join its Engineering and Maintenance team in Owerri, Imo. The role targets candidates with relevant engineering qualifications or technical certifications and experience in maintenance, repairs, and hotel facilities systems. The position requires knowledge of hotel facilities systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators and lifts, along with strong maintenance planning, safety compliance and contractor coordination skills. Supervisory or management experience in engineering operations is preferred for higher roles, and experience in a five-star hotel or with an international hotel brand is advantageous.
What you would do
- Maintain and repair hotel facilities systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generators, lifts).
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities and ensure safety compliance.
- Coordinate and manage contractors for maintenance work.
- Monitor and report on equipment performance and preventive maintenance.
- Assist with engineering operations management as needed.
- Supervise maintenance staff in applicable roles (if assigned).
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and standards.
- Respond to and resolve facility-related issues in a timely manner.
