About this role
A Mechanical Engineer is needed to oversee installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repair of a soybean processing plant and farm machinery for Reliable Steel & Plastic Ind. Ltd. The role is based in Lagos and focuses on reducing downtime and maintaining peak performance across the plant and equipment.
What you would do
- Direct and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for soybean processing units, including extruders, crushers, conveyors, and sorting equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy farm equipment, tractors, power tools, and related mechanical systems.
- Diagnose breakdowns promptly and implement effective engineering solutions to maintain continuous operation.
- Monitor spare parts availability, manage inventory and recommend component replacements.
- Enforce health, safety and environmental standards across all machinery maintenance and plant operations.
What they are asking for
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining soybean processing plants and farm machinery.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, BEng) or HND, or related agricultural engineering.
- Resident in Rivers State or environs, or willing to relocate immediately.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear systems, heavy diesel engines, and automated processing machinery.
- Strong diagnostic skills, hands-on mechanical aptitude, and ability to handle high-pressure repair scenarios.
