Mechanical Engineer - HEMM
About this role
Dangote Industries Limited is hiring a Mechanical Engineer focused on Heavy Earth Moving Equipment (HEMM) for its Ogun location. The role involves designing, analysing, developing and maintaining HEMM and related components for use in mines, alongside collaborating with cross-functional teams. What you would do
- Ensure mechanical maintenance is carried out properly and safely as per mine requirements
- Maintain mine Heavy Earth Moving Equipment
- Train subordinates to ensure timely and correct mechanical maintenance
- Maintain housekeeping of job areas and the plant
- Plan spares requirements
- Adhere to and maintain records for NIS, ISO 19001-2015, NIS ISO 14001-2015 and NIS ISO 45001-2018
- Monitor mechanical systems during operation to identify and resolve issues
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
- Stay updated with advancements in HEMM engineering
- Follow mining industry standards and regulations

- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and materials science
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanics of machines
- Excellent mathematics skills including geometry, calculus and physics
- Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software
- Creative thinking and innovation
- Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities
