Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Mechanical Engineer role at Collection Developments. You will supervise all on-site mechanical works, including HVAC, domestic water supply, drainage, water and sewage treatment installations and fire suppression systems, and coordinate commissioning with the MEP team. The ideal candidate has extensive mechanical site engineering experience on multi-storey buildings, with COREN registration preferred.
What you would do
- Supervise all on-site mechanical works, including HVAC, domestic water supply, drainage, water treatment and sewage treatment installations, and fire suppression systems
- Review mechanical shop drawings and submittals and advise the Programme and MEP Manager for approval or rejection
- Inspect first-fix mechanical installations before partitions close; confirm pipe sizing, support spacing, and drainage fall
- Witness all pressure tests on pipework and issue pressure test certificates
- Manage and supervise all mechanical subcontractor teams; check daily labour and plant returns
- Ensure penetrations through slabs and walls are sleeved, fire-stopped, and sealed correctly','Lead mechanical commissioning and testing in coordination with the MEP Commissioning Engineer: filling and flushing, water treatment commissioning, sewage treatment commissioning, HVAC commissioning and balancing','Produce mechanical inspection and test records for inclusion in the Operations and Maintenance Manual
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; COREN registration is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of mechanical site engineering experience on multi-storey residential or commercial buildings
- Experience commissioning water treatment plant and sewage treatment systems is an advantage
- Good understanding of HVAC systems including split-unit installation and balancing
- Membership of NSE is an advantage
