Mechanic Supervisor (Ogba)
About this role
A full‑time Mechanic Supervisor based in Ogba, Lagos, overseeing mechanical activities for inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of diesel generator sets. The roleProvides technical leadership to mechanics and technicians to ensure safe, timely, quality work that meets OEM specifications and company standards.
What you would do
- Lead dismantling, inspection, repair and reassembly of diesel generator engines including cylinder heads and valves, connecting rods and bearings, camshafts and timing components, turbochargers, pistons and rings, and crankshafts and main bearings
- Supervise inspection of major engine components and perform valve setting, engine timing, injector installation and other critical adjustments
- Develop and implement overhaul work plans, schedules, manpower requirements and job priorities
- Ensure proper use and care of mechanical tools, lifting equipment and testing instruments
- Coordinate all mechanical activities during genset engine overhauls
- Oversee engine overhauls to ensure quality workmanship and downtime minimisation
What they are asking for
- HND, BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5–8 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience with diesel generator maintenance and overhauling
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead technician role
- Competent in inspecting pistons, liners, bearings, crankshafts, camshafts, cylinder heads, valves, connecting rods and timing components
- Experience in preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of diesel generator sets
- Strong knowledge of complete diesel engine dismantling, inspection, repair and reassembly
