Marine Engineer
About this role
Based in Lagos with travel to offshore facilities, the Marine Engineer provides technical support for offshore FPSO operations, focusing on deepwater marine systems, cargo operations, hull and topside structures, and mooring systems. The role involves ensuring regulatory compliance and monitoring asset integrity and performance to support safe offshore operations.
What you would do
- Troubleshoot offshore FPSO operations to ensure safe, reliable and efficient asset performance.
- Monitor the integrity of FPSO, marine safety systems, hull and mooring structures, and the offloading terminal through inspections and assessments.
- Plan and oversee inspection, condition monitoring and repair design for hull, mooring and marine terminal systems.
- Ensure engineering deliverables such as design calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications meet company and regulatory standards and coordinate interfaces with offshore operations, contractors and vendors.
- Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations and mitigation measures.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and lead related activities.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (marine, naval architecture, mechanical, civil, ocean or petroleum) and NYSC completion.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant oil and gas experience, including at least 5 years on FPSOs, FSOs, offshore terminals or floating production assets.
- Knowledge of FPSOs, offshore loading and mooring systems, marine terminals and floating offshore structures, and Classification Society rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong teamwork, communication, coordination, problem solving, analytical skills and initiative.
- Functional skills including Advanced Engineering Assessment, Fluid Solids Technology, Fired Equipment Design and Technology, Non-Metallics Technology, Refractory and Ceramics Technology.
