Managing Director
About this role
STAT MARINE is seeking a Managing Director in Lagos to provide strategic, operational, commercial and technical leadership. The role oversees marine and engineering services, guiding offshore and onshore projects, marine support, inspection, installation, commissioning and related activities. The MD will develop partnerships, grow client relationships and identify new business opportunities while ensuring compliance with industry standards and building a high-performing organisation.
What you would do
- Provide strategic direction aligned with the Board's vision and set targets, budgets and growth plans.
- Lead and oversee all marine, offshore and onshore engineering projects to meet safety, cost, quality and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate engineering, project management, marine operations, HSE, procurement, finance and commercial teams.
- Review and approve project execution strategies, resource plans and budgets.
- Manage vessels, marine assets, equipment, personnel, subcontractors and other resources.
- Establish systems for monitoring, cost control, risk management, quality assurance and performance reporting.
- Intervene on critical project issues, delays, technical challenges, contractual matters and client concerns.
- Oversee marine operations, asset utilisation and compliance with marine and environmental regulations.
- Drive business development, client relationships and commercial negotiations for major contracts and partnerships.
- Represent the company in high-level industry and stakeholder engagements.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- MBA or Master’s in Business Administration, Management or Engineering Management is advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with senior management exposure.
- Experience in the marine, offshore, oil & gas, energy, engineering, construction or related services industry.
- Strong track record in project execution and operational management.
- Professional engineering registration or relevant certifications may be advantageous.
- Experience with international projects and multinational clients is beneficial.
