About this role
The Manager Operations role in Lagos reports to the Director Operations and oversees all aspects of the operations function. It includes Port Operations, Equipment, Transport Dispatch and Maintenance & Repair, with responsibilities to maintain service levels and manage costs. The position is aimed at an experienced liner shipping professional, with about 7 to 10 years of comprehensive operations experience.
What you would do
- Report to the Director Operations on all aspects of the operations function.
- Ensure customer service levels are maintained.
- Monitor and manage vendor and staff performance.
- Control overall operational costs.
- Oversee Port Operations, Equipment, Transport Dispatch and Maintenance & Repair activities.
- Lead monthly area reporting and cost analysis.

- 7 to 10 years of comprehensive operations experience in liner shipping.
- Proven experience with schedule maintenance and on-time performance metrics.
- Strong capability in equipment forecasting and MTY equipment turnaround time.
- Experience in vendor performance management and collaboration with procurement and berth planners.
- Knowledge of applicable governmental rules and regulations.
- Ability to capture and process purchase orders quickly and accurately.
