Manager, IT Operations (North-West Nigeria)
About this role
A managerial IT role based in Katsina for NewGlobe, focused on delivering reliable IT support to staff, maintaining IT operations and security, and supervising IT personnel in the North-West region. The role requires flexibility to work outside normal hours and to operate with broad direction and minimal supervision.
What you would do
- Serve as the first IT support contact for local staff across hardware, software and peripherals
- Manage service requests and tickets to minimise backlog and improve service desk efficiency
- Troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed, monitoring operational performance
- Implement standard operating procedures and IT governance processes
- Deploy and configure computers, school technology and peripherals; redeploy existing equipment as needed
- Manage IT infrastructure projects, including scheduling and budgeting and supervise junior staff

- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognised university
- 5-10 years of relevant IT/industry experience
- Strong PC hardware knowledge and Windows OS/Server experience (Windows 7/8/X and Server 2012+)
- Microsoft Office support and Active Directory administration; Microsoft certification a plus
- Experience with routers, switches and firewall management; network security implementation
- Knowledge of Android technologies, LAN/WiFi configurations, and cloud services (AWS)
