Manager - FTTH Core Network Planning
About this role
The role is for a Manager responsible for design, planning and optimisation of MTN Nigeria's FTTH Core (Data and Voice) network. It involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, mentoring engineers, and translating business plans into FTTH core requirements. What you would do
- Coordinate inputs and outputs from stakeholders to design the FTTH Core Network
- Interface with stakeholders for FTTH Core solutions development and planning
- Lead and mentor FTTH Core Network engineers to meet KPIs
- Define procedures for efficient network deployment and quality solutions
- Review and approve FTTH Core documentation and reports
- Translate business growth into network requirements for FTTH Core
- Plan cost-efficient network design with a long-term horizon (5+ years)
- Manage FTTH Core network budget aligned to business goals
- Design architecture and specifications for FTTH Core networks
- Lead cloud deployment, virtualization, SDN and network modernization initiatives
What they are asking for
- First degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 6-13 years total experience with at least 4 years in telecommunications
- Experience in FTTH Core network planning and design (BRAS/BNG, AAA, DNS, CDN etc)
- Experience with FTTH technologies (BPON/EPON/GPON/XG-PON/XGS-PON, 25G/50G-PON)
- Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure platforms and technologies
- Experience in 4G/5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) planning
- Strong IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) planning and design knowledge
- Good TCP/IP routing and switching understanding
- Understanding of Fixed Core Network products planning
- Experience with analytics, statistics modelling and capacity planning
