Manager, Field Operations, MLE, West & Central Africa
About this role
The Manager, Field Operations oversees Evidence Action's monitoring and evaluation field operations for programmes in the West and Central Africa sub-region (Nigeria, Liberia and Cameroon). It is a one-year contract role.
What you would do
- Plan and coordinate MLE support for sub-regional programmes to ensure activities are comprehensive and cost-efficient
- Review MLE results and support interpretation to inform data-driven decisions by programme teams
- Represent the MLE team in meetings with programme teams, partners and government stakeholders as required
- Manage data collection activities across the sub-region, supervising country teams to meet quantitative and qualitative objectives
- Oversee field operation team management, including annual work plans, budgets, recruitment and onboarding, and staff development
- Develop and maintain databases and tools for tracking programme information and coordinate with vendors as needed
What they are asking for
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with strong public health, development economics or statistics background
- Seven or more years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning programmes in West and Central Africa (Nigeria, Liberia and Cameroon)
- Strong technical skills with at least four years of practical experience managing large teams implementing data collection protocols
- Proficiency in English; French language skills are highly relevant and French speakers are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrable experience working with teams across countries to implement surveys and data collection assignments
- Experience using electronic data collection platforms, specifically SurveyCTO
