Maintenance Planning Engineer

The role is for a Maintenance Planning Engineer at NESCO (Nigeria) Limited in Plateau. What you would do
- Participate in developing annual and monthly operating plans and other operational plans
- Manage short-term and long-term maintenance planning activities at the plant, including shutdowns
- Formulate plant maintenance policy and strategy to meet plant objectives
- Prepare periodic reports for the Head, Generation
- Routinely monitor plant equipment and maintain records
- Ensure timely availability of materials and tools for preventive and corrective maintenance
- Oversee minor and major overhauls and routine inspections
- Plan maximisation of plant shutdowns to minimise revenue loss
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Generation
What they are asking for
- Minimum of six years of post-qualification hands-on experience in planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of major engineering works, preferably in power generation
- At least three of the six years in a supervisory role
- Professional certifications with engineering bodies; full COREN registration or related specialized certification
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is advantageous (Master's in Engineering, MBA/Management)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or HND with COREN-accredited PGD and a Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution
- Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements and statutory guidelines
- Experience in hydro power plant operations, maintenance, refurbishment/overhaul, modernisation and upgrade is advantageous
- Knowledge of maintenance management practices and material/resource planning for power plants
- Strong planning and organisational abilities
