Maintenance Engineer
About this role
Amel International Services Limited in Lagos is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. The company manufactures a range of food products under the AMEL SUSAN brand and operates in the FMCG sector, including baking and breakfast cereal lines. The role reports to the Head of Supply Chain and focuses on maintaining production machinery and plant utilities to minimise downtime. The candidate should have a solid background in mechanical/electrical/electronic or mechatronics engineering with experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in FMCG or food processing, and familiarity with automation and locally fabricated machinery.
What you would do
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and utilities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Maintain milling, grinding, sieving, conveying, mixing and packaging equipment.
- Support PLC, HMI, VFD, motor, control panel and automation maintenance.
- Participate in machine fabrication, modification, installation and commissioning.
- Conduct root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain maintenance records, spare-parts requirements and safety compliance.
What they are asking for
- BSc/BEng/HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline
- 5 to 8 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience
- Experience in FMCG, food processing, milling, sugar, salt or flour manufacturing preferred
- Practical knowledge of mechanical repairs, electrical systems and industrial automation
- Experience with locally fabricated machinery is an advantage
