Proforce Industries Limited in Ogun state is hiring a Machinist to join its engineering and fabrication team at its Ode Remo facility. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining manual and CNC machines to fabricate high-tolerance metal parts for tactical and armored vehicles. The employer works in automotive and defence manufacturing, supplying armour and protective mobility products to government, corporate, diplomatic, and private sectors in Nigeria and Africa.
What you would do
- Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders and CNC equipment to machine components.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T callouts, and machining process sheets.
- Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, milling and reaming on various materials.
- Measure and inspect parts during and after production using precision instruments to meet tight tolerances.
- Load, edit and adjust CNC programs, select speeds, feeds, tool paths and coolant settings.
- Maintain machine tools, replace worn cutting tools, manage coolant and troubleshoot faults.
- Keep the workspace clean and safe, following PPE and safety rules.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in the workshop.
What they are asking for
- NABTEB, Trade Test Class 1, OND or HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Machining/Manufacturing Technology or related field.
- 2–5 years of hands-on machining experience with conventional and/or CNC machines in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Strong mathematical accuracy, spatial reasoning, manual dexterity, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of machining principles, tool geometry, materials science, GD&T, CNC programming basics, CAM, quality control and dimensional metrology.
