Logistics Manager

About this role

Givanas Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager in Lagos to oversee movement and distribution of materials and finished products across operations. The role covers transportation and distribution, fleet operations, route planning, warehouse and inventory movement, managing third-party transporters, delivery performance, and controlling logistics costs. The position is for someone with several years of logistics experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution, and with supervisory or managerial experience. The employer operates in manufacturing and distribution of fast moving consumer goods through Nigerian distributors and customers.

What you would do

• Oversee transportation and distribution activities for materials and finished products.
• Manage fleet operations and route planning to optimise delivery.
• Coordinate warehouse activities, dispatch, and inter-location transfers.
• Oversee third-party transporters/3PL providers, including rate negotiations and performance monitoring.
• Monitor delivery performance and logistics costs, implementing cost controls.
• Utilise ERP, GPS/fleet tracking, or other logistics systems as applicable.
• Provide leadership and reporting on logistics operations.
• Analyse and resolve logistics issues and optimise processes.

What they are asking for

• BSc or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant logistics experience, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or industrial environments.
• 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Hands-on experience in transportation, fleet operations, and nationwide/local distribution.
• Experience managing transporters, contracted trucks and 3PL providers, including rate negotiation and performance monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of route planning, vehicle utilisation, fuel management, maintenance, licensing and insurance.
• Experience coordinating warehouse activities, dispatch, inventory movement and inter-location transfers.
• Understanding of logistics budgeting, transportation costs and cost optimisation.
• Experience with ERP, GPS/fleet tracking, inventory or logistics management systems is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
