Logistics Manager
About this role
A full-time Logistics Manager is being sought in Enugu to oversee fleet operations, product distribution, delivery schedules and transportation activities. The role focuses on ensuring timely deliveries, vehicle maintenance, cost control and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The position involves managing trucks, drivers and logistics staff, maintaining records, coordinating with other departments, and monitoring costs to improve efficiency. The employer collaborates with Sales, Warehouse, Production, Procurement and Finance to support operations. Prior FMCG or manufacturing experience and strong leadership and reporting skills are preferred.
What you would do
- Manage company trucks, vehicle maintenance, servicing, repairs and fleet availability
- Supervise drivers and logistics personnel to meet delivery schedules and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with vehicle documentation, licensing, transport regulations and company policies
- Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare operational and performance reports
- Manage logistics vendors, mechanics, transporters and other service providers
- Coordinate daily product deliveries to customers and distributors
- Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Production, Procurement and Finance teams
- Monitor fuel consumption, transportation expenses and maintenance costs
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of products to minimise damage and losses
- Support operations with planning and coordination across departments
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or related field
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, leadership, reporting and stakeholder management skills
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics, fleet management or distribution operations, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing
- Proven experience managing trucks, drivers, vehicle maintenance and delivery operations
- Strong knowledge of logistics cost control, fuel management and transportation safety
