Local Government Area (LGA) Immunization Consultant

About this role

The role is for an LGA Immunization Consultant focused on supporting routine immunization and polio outbreak response activities in assigned LGAs, working with local health teams and communities. Candidates must be willing to live and work in the assigned LGAs.

What you would do

• Provide technical assistance to a cluster of 6-8 LGAs under the State Immunization Consultant
• Help LGAs and ward staff develop plans for routine immunization and nOPV2 delivery
• Support capacity building on immunization, nOPV2 administration, demand generation, supervision, vaccine management, and data documentation
• Ensure planned fixed and outreach immunization sessions are implemented and documented in data tools
• Mentor and supervise health facility and outreach vaccination teams to ensure quality service
• Identify and refer newborns and under-immunized children to facilities and outreach posts, and contribute to program reporting

• At least three years of work experience in immunization
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work with local communities and diverse groups
• Experience with routine immunization at LGA level and ability to work with minimal supervision
• English proficiency; local language understanding in the assignment LGAs is essential
