Local Capacity Strengthening/Health Workforce Development Officer
About this role
A role for public health professionals to support local capacity strengthening and health workforce development in Kano, working with government and partners to assess needs, design and deliver training, and monitor progress on donor-funded projects.
What you would do
- Conduct capacity assessments of health systems and workforce to identify gaps
- Develop and adapt training modules, curricula and capacity-building plans
- Plan, coordinate and deliver training events and mentorship for health workers and partners
- Collaborate with Ministries of Health, NGOs, local authorities and international bodies to align activities
- Provide expert advice on HRH, programme implementation and quality improvement
- Track training activities, maintain data, document lessons and report results
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of experience or Master's degree and 2-4 years or Doctorate and 0-2 years in public health, health administration, development or related fields
- Experience in capacity building and health workforce development, preferably in donor-funded projects
- Knowledge of CHW programmes, adult learning, M&E and HRH
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, strategic thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with data collection/analysis; ability to work independently and in diverse teams
- Desirable: Master Trainer certification (e.g., iCCM) and experience with e-learning/digital health tools
