Loan Officer

A full-time Loan Officer role based in Sokoto (Kwannawa Motor Park area) and other specified locations, working for Fort Knox Outsourcing. The role involves identifying potential borrowers, processing loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and monitoring loan repayments. What you would do
- Identify and attract prospective customers through direct marketing, referrals and field sales
- Promote loan products and explain interest rates, repayment terms and eligibility criteria
- Receive, review, and process loan applications and supporting documents
- Conduct customer verification and assess creditworthiness according to company policies
- Carry out field visits to verify customer information and business operations
- Follow up on loan repayments and manage overdue accounts professionally
- Maintain records of loan applications, disbursements, repayments, and recovery activities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage retention and referrals
- Meet assigned customer acquisition, loan disbursement, and repayment targets
- Identify potential credit risks and escalate suspicious transactions or repayment challenges

- Minimum of OND, HND or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline
- Experience in microfinance, lending, banking, credit administration, sales or debt recovery is an advantage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical, analytical and record-keeping abilities
- Ability to meet targets and work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to conduct field visits when required
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
