Loan Management & Recovery Officer

About this role

Ellasot Consulting, on behalf of a reputable consumer finance organisation, seeks a Loan Management & Recovery Officer in Rivers (Port Harcourt). The role involves monitoring loan portfolios, tracking repayment performance and driving recovery through regular follow-ups and field visits. Only candidates resident in Port Harcourt will be considered.

What you would do

• Monitor loan accounts and repayment schedules to ensure timely payments.
• Identify overdue, delinquent and missed-payment accounts and initiate follow-up.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding repayments through calls, messages, emails and visits.
• Conduct regular and surprise field visits to assess repayment capacity.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements with customers in line with approved company policies.
• Escalate seriously delinquent accounts to management for further recovery action.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in loan management, credit administration, collections or recovery (preferably within a bank, microfinance bank or financial institution).
• Knowledge of loan monitoring, repayment schedules and credit recovery processes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial/banking software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and customer relationship skills.
