Legal Specialist
About this role
Konstructum Contracting Company seeks a Legal Specialist to provide legal and compliance support across the organisation and its affiliated entities. The role involves advising on commercial, operational, and regulatory matters, drafting and negotiating contracts, handling corporate documentation, and monitoring regulatory requirements. The Legal Specialist will work with business teams to identify risks and ensure proper compliance, supporting contract management, due diligence, and governance activities. The position is based in Lagos and reports to the Head of Legal & Compliance.
What you would do
- Provide legal advice on commercial, operational and regulatory matters to internal stakeholders
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and contractual documents
- Assist in managing the contract lifecycle and maintain records of agreements
- Support contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners
- Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory developments
- Support due diligence for partnerships, investments, and joint ventures
- Assist with corporate governance documentation and board-related preparations
- Support compliance reviews, audits and regulatory reporting
- Coordinate with external counsel as required for disputes and litigation
- Develop and maintain legal templates and knowledge resources

- Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) membership
- LL.B degree and Barrister-at-Law qualification from Nigerian Law School
- 5–8 years post-call legal experience
- Experience in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation
- Experience working with senior management and cross-functional teams
- Experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance and legal risk management
- Experience in construction, procurement, energy, oil and gas, or related sectors preferred
- Strong contract drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of corporate and regulatory requirements and risk management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems
