Legal Officer I

About this role

The Legal Officer I will assist Nobzo Verse Limited's Legal Directorate with advisory, contract management, compliance and documentation work. The role involves reviewing and preparing contracts and other legal documents, conducting legal research, and supporting regulatory and risk management activities under the Director of Legal and Lawyer II. It is suitable for a Nigerian-qualified lawyer with 1–3 years post-call experience.

What you would do

• Draft, review and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, contracts, MOUs and other legal documents
• Provide legal research and advisory support on operational, commercial, employment and regulatory matters
• Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies
• Support the preparation and maintenance of corporate records, contracts, legal correspondence and compliance documentation
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions and reports as required
• Assist with legal due diligence for prospective partnerships, business arrangements and other corporate activities

What they are asking for

• LL.B and B.L with qualification as a Nigerian legal practitioner
• 1–3 years post-call professional experience
• Experience in corporate/commercial law, contract review or legal research
• Knowledge of Nigerian corporate, labour, regulatory and data protection laws; commitment to integrity and confidentiality
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
