Legal Officer – French Speaking

About this role

The role is a French-speaking Legal Officer who will provide advisory and operational legal support across Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited’s business activities. It is based in Lagos and targets candidates with strong corporate and commercial legal experience who are fluent in French and English.

What you would do

• Provide timely and practical legal advice to management and business units on day-to-day operational and commercial matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and other contracts.
• Advise on legal risks of business decisions and monitor changes in laws and regulatory requirements.
• Support regulatory compliance and liaise with regulators and maintain internal policies and controls.
• Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution; coordinate with external solicitors and prepare documentation.
• Provide bilingual legal support for French-speaking transactions, including drafting, reviewing and translating documents in English and French.

What they are asking for

• LL.B from a recognised university; called to the Nigerian Bar with a valid BL.
• Minimum of 3-5 years post-call legal experience, preferably within corporate, commercial, manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture or poultry sector.
• Fluency in French and English with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, employment and regulatory laws; strong legal research and analytical abilities.
• Experience with litigation and dispute resolution is an advantage; experience working with French-speaking clients or international stakeholders is desirable.
