Legal Manager
About this role
A Legal Manager is sought by Johnvents Foods Limited in Lagos to oversee the company’s commercial contracts and legal matters. The role supports the organisation’s growth across manufacturing, FMCG, cocoa procurement and export, edible oils, beverages, supply chain, distribution, marketing and international activities. The position involves drafting and managing contracts, providing legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reducing legal risk. It covers areas such as intellectual property, employment, litigation management, data privacy, and policy development. The role requires extensive post-qualification experience and formal legal qualifications.
What you would do
- Draft, review and advise on commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, NDAs and service agreements
- Oversee contract lifecycle from creation to execution and maintenance
- Ensure contract compliance with laws and obligations
- Provide timely legal advice to management and subsidiaries
- Identify legal risks and propose mitigations
- Negotiate terms with internal and external parties
- Maintain a contract database and track deadlines and renewals
- Monitor regulatory compliance across corporate, product, and export activities
- Provide legal support to manufacturing, procurement, marketing and operations
- Supervise litigation processes and engage solicitors as needed
What they are asking for
- Minimum 12 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in a reputable law firm, financial institution, manufacturing/FMCG company or similar corporate setting
- LLB with minimum Second Class Lower honours
- BL qualification
- LLM or other relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
