Legal Counsel
About this role
Aldelia Limited seeks an experienced Legal Counsel in Lagos to provide strategic legal support for exploration and production operations, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance. It targets candidates with strong Nigerian and international corporate and oil & gas law experience who can work with technical and operations teams.
What you would do
- Provide legal advice on transaction structuring and commercial matters
- Advise on oil and gas exploration, development and production operations, including community, land and pilotage matters
- Support capital markets transactions, debt and equity financing and commercial negotiations
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements, resolutions, memoranda, letters and other legal documents
- Coordinate management of litigation and external legal counsel
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support compliance initiatives
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Nigerian Law School qualification and membership of the Nigerian Bar Association
- Master's degree in Law is an advantage
- Minimum 10 years' legal experience in supporting technical and operations teams within an oil & gas E&P company
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian and corporate law in Nigeria, UK and US
- Experience in contracts management, negotiation and legal advisory
