About this role
A Legal Counsel is needed in Lagos to support the company’s oil and gas exploration and production operations, including contract work, transaction structuring, financing, litigation management and regulatory compliance. The role targets experienced legal professionals with strong knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas sector and legal system.
What you would do
- Provide legal support to oil and gas exploration and production operations.
- Draft and review contracts and agreements.
- Assist with transaction structuring and commercial negotiations.
- Support debt/equity financing and capital markets transactions.
- Manage regulatory compliance and litigation matters.
- Advise on corporate law across Nigeria, the UK and the US.

- Bachelor's degree in Law or Juris Doctor.
- Nigerian Law School qualification and Nigerian Bar Association membership.
- Minimum 10 years' relevant legal experience in a producing oil and gas company.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas sector and Nigerian legal system.
- Experience in contract drafting/review, transaction structuring and negotiations.
- Knowledge of corporate law in Nigeria, the UK and the US.
