Legal and Compliance Officer

About this role

A Legal and Compliance Officer is sought to assist the Legal Department in managing the company’s legal affairs and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role supports property transactions, due diligence, contract work, and regulatory monitoring within Veritasi Homes and Properties Limited, a Lagos-based real estate development firm focused on value and service. The position involves advising internal teams, maintaining legal records, and coordinating with external counsel as needed. The employer provides a salary in the range of ₦350,000 to ₦450,000 monthly.

What you would do

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents
• Support property transactions and title documentation, including due diligence
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry regulations
• Develop, implement and monitor internal compliance policies and procedures
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation and other legal matters
• Maintain accurate legal records, registers and documentation
• Provide legal advice and guidance to internal teams
• Support the Head of Legal with any other tasks assigned

• LL.B and B.L., and called to the Nigerian Bar
• Minimum of 4 years post-call experience
• Strong skills in drafting, research and negotiation
• Good knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and time management
• Real estate experience is an added advantage
