Legal and Compliance Assistant

A Legal and Compliance Assistant role for a law graduate who has completed NYSC, to support regulatory, contractual, and policy matters within Velvot Nigeria Limited in Lagos. The position is suitable for someone aiming to grow into a corporate counsel role in a technology-focused firm.
What you would do
- Monitor regulatory changes and prepare briefings on their business impact
- Review employee documents with HR to ensure compliance with labour and data protection laws
- Prepare regulatory filings, returns, and responses to regulator requests
- Maintain contract register, templates, and track renewals and key dates
- Ensure internal agreements and policies are legally sound and approved for use
- Draft, review, and advise on commercial agreements and data/privacy policies

- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and successful completion of Law School (BL)
- At least 1 year post-qualification experience in legal or compliance roles
- Must have completed NYSC
- Demonstrated interest in becoming a Corporate Counsel
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
