Lead - Instrumentation and Controls Assurance Consultant

About this role

Lead - Instrumentation & Controls Assurance Consultant for oil and gas projects, based in Lagos. Requires extensive experience in instrumentation, control systems, safety and assurance roles, with leadership responsibilities in EPC/EPCM environments.

What you would do

• Lead technical and engineering assurance activities for instrumentation and controls.
• Perform control-loop testing, commissioning, and functional safety assessments.
• Oversee SCADA, DCS, PLC, SIS/ESD systems and related field instrumentation.
• Coordinate quality assurance, risk identification, documentation and certification processes.
• Manage project teams including engineers and cost/commercial assurance personnel.
• Engage with stakeholders and ensure contractor progress verification and reporting.

• Significant post-qualification experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or related industries.
• Professional registration or chartered status (e.g., COREN, CEng, PE, MRICS/FRICS, NIQS/RQS) as applicable.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Strong leadership, analytical, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM, Owner's Engineer, Third-Party Inspection, Project Assurance or related environments.
• Willingness to work in Nigeria for the duration of the assignment.
