Lead, Institutional Coverage Capital Origination

About this role

A senior investment banking professional will lead institutional coverage and capital origination, focusing on engaging institutional capital providers to support advisory and investment transactions across Africa and international markets. The role targets someone with extensive experience in private markets, capital formation or related areas, capable of managing relationships with major institutional investors.

What you would do

• Match investor appetite with structured transaction opportunities.
• Lead investor engagement, due diligence and investment/credit committee processes.
• Provide market intelligence on institutional capital flows and investor appetite.
• Build strategic relationships with introducers such as law firms, investment consultants and advisory firms.
• Originate and secure funding commitments, mandates, term sheets and syndication opportunities.
• Manage relationships with DFIs, multilaterals, banks, private credit funds, asset managers and other institutional investors.

• BSc in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or related field.
• MBA or CFA is an advantage.
• Proven track record of securing institutional funding commitments.
• Strong knowledge of debt, structured finance and institutional investment processes.
• Ability to engage credibly with CIOs, investment committees and senior banking executives.
• Extensive network across institutional capital providers in Africa and potentially Europe, North America or Asia.
