Lead Geologist

About this role

Lead Geologist role for NexPro Energy in Lagos, focused on owning and developing the field geological model, well prognosis, and post-first-oil field development planning. Suitable for a geologist with extensive subsurface experience, including seismic interpretation and wellsite geology, able to work on offshore projects and local site visits.

What you would do

• Own the field's geological model and reserves basis from 3D seismic data and petrophysical evaluation.
• Oversee well prognosis and the geological content of drilling programmes; supervise wellsite geology during campaigns.
• Complete well-to-seismic tie and remap the field on calibrated interpretation; revise volumetrics and fluid contacts.
• Lead the geological basis for post-first-oil development planning, including reservoir geometry and well placement considerations.
• Mature the model through appraisal, development, and infill wells; provide reservoir management input and recovery improvement ideas.
• Support field operations through producing life, with on-site visits during well operations.

What they are asking for

• Degree in Geology or Geoscience.
• 8+ years in subsurface geology covering well operations and development geoscience.
• Experience in 3D seismic interpretation, well-to-seismic tie, velocity modelling, and depth conversion.
• Static modelling, petrophysical evaluation, and volumetric estimation with uncertainty ranges.
• Well operations experience including prognosis, drilling programmes, wellsite supervision, and real-time tops and casing point calls.
• Willingness to be on-site in Lagos with rig-site and offshore visits; able to resume within 4-6 weeks of offer.
