Lead Control Systems Engineer
About this role
An experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer is sought to oversee engineering, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial control and automation systems for oil and gas, energy and industrial projects across Nigeria. The role targets someone with substantial seniority who can lead a team, develop technical documentation and coordinate with operations and clients.
What you would do
- Lead engineering, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial control and automation systems.
- Develop and review control philosophies, design specifications, narratives, I/O lists, cause-and-effect matrices, architectures, interface schedules, wiring requirements and related docs.
- Develop, configure and review PLC, DCS, SCADA and HMI applications including logic, sequences, alarms and graphics.
- Lead integration of package skids, instruments, drives, motor controls, remote I/O, supervisory systems and industrial networks.
- Supervise control systems engineers and technicians with work allocation, guidance, quality review and competency development.
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, loop checks, functional testing and system handover; support brownfield modifications, migrations and shutdowns.

- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Automation, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in industrial control systems and automation engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong hands-on experience in control systems design, configuration, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Proficiency in at least one major PLC or DCS platform with related HMI/SCADA and industrial communications experience.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, industrial networks, remote I/O, drives, motor controls and package-system integration.
- Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, loop checks, alarms, interlocks, failover and system handover; brownfield modifications and system migrations.
