Lead, Bunker Trading

About this role

The role leads bunker trading activities for Propetrol Limited, focusing on originating and executing bunker trades, managing key client and supplier relationships, and contributing to trading volumes and profitability. It reports to the Head of Bunker Trading and targets performance in volume, margin, and execution.

What you would do

• Identify and pursue profitable bunker trading opportunities.
• Develop and manage relationships with shipowners, vessel operators, brokers, suppliers, and trading partners.
• Obtain supplier quotations, prepare offers, and negotiate terms within approved authority.
• Execute spot and term transactions according to strategy and risk limits.
• Monitor prices, vessel movements, supply, and market developments to guide trading decisions.
• Grow assigned accounts and develop new business to meet volume and margin targets.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of seven years of bunker trading, marine fuel sales, oil trading, or commodities trading experience.
• Experience originating or executing transactions and contributing to commercial targets.
• Strong understanding of bunker products, pricing, supply markets, and shipping logistics.
• Experience managing client and supplier relationships and negotiating terms.
• Working knowledge of international trade documentation, counterparty risk, and credit controls.
