Laboratory Specialist
About this role
A Laboratory Specialist position based in Jigawa, reporting to the State Program Manager with oversight from the Laboratory Advisor. The role focuses on coordinating quality laboratory services, specimen referral, and strengthening laboratory systems in the state.
What you would do
- support laboratory readiness and quality-management systems
- monitor sample collection, transport, testing, results return and use
- review laboratory data and address performance and turnaround gaps
- coach facility and government lab personnel and support assessments
- coordinate proficiency testing, corrective actions and referral-network improvements
- maintain verification evidence for laboratory milestones

- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field with current professional registration
- postgraduate qualification is an advantage
- at least 5 years of relevant laboratory program or diagnostic systems experience
- strong analytical and communication skills
- ability to coach and engage stakeholders
