What you would do
- Analyze environmental samples using laboratory instruments
- Perform chemical, biochemical, physical, and biological tests
- Follow quality assurance, safety protocols and maintain chain of custody
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Record and manage data, often in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Occasionally collect environmental samples in the field
- Develop and implement new analytical methods as needed
