A full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist role based in Ikorodu, Lagos, focusing on performing and overseeing laboratory investigations to support clinical diagnosis and patient care. Suitable for candidates with a BMLS, MLSCN registration, and relevant hospital or clinical laboratory experience.
What you would do
- Perform routine and specialised laboratory investigations per established protocols
- Collect, label, process, analyse and report patient specimens
- Carry out tests across hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology and related areas
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Maintain quality control, records and documentation; participate in QA programmes
- Ensure biosafety, infection prevention and proper specimen handling and disposal
What they are asking for
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognised institution
- Registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and hold a valid practising licence
- 1–3 years of post-qualification experience preferred, hospital/diagnostic laboratory experience advantageous
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control and assurance procedures
- Ability to operate modern lab equipment and lab information systems
- Strong analytical, attention to detail and communication skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team and on shifts if required
