Kitchen Assistant

What you would do
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping, portioning ingredients).
- Wash dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Ensure food is stored, labelled and dated correctly to prevent spoilage.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low stock to senior staff.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain bin and waste area cleanliness.
- Prepare simple dishes or components under supervision.
- Receive, check and store food supplies with proper stock rotation (FIFO).
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
