Junior Legal & Communication Officer

About this role

A Junior Legal and Communication Officer role based on site in Jos, supporting the legal department with contract and compliance tasks, and assisting with internal and external communications for the company. It is aimed at individuals with some experience in law, FMCG or agriculture and strong writing skills.

What you would do

• Draft and review documents, contracts and professional correspondence.
• Prepare company secretarial work such as board notices, agendas, reports and minutes.
• Assist with statutory filings and maintenance of regulatory records (e.g., annual returns, licenses).
• Support maintenance of statutory registers (shareholders, directors, secretaries) and corporate structure tasks.
• Provide legal advice to the group and management in a timely manner.
• Assist with press releases, media relations and development of basic communication plans.

• Degree in Law or relevant certification.
• Foundational knowledge of corporate or commercial law, contracts, business registration and regulatory compliance.
• 1-5 years of experience in FMCG, law or agricultural firms (advantage).
• Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in ERPs and Google Workspace tools.
• Ability to work on-site with cross-functional teams and maintain confidentiality.
