Junior Legal Associate (Corporate & Commercial Law)

About this role

Resurgir Consulting seeks a Junior Legal Associate to support its corporate and commercial practice. The role is aimed at qualified Nigerian Bar lawyers with about 1–2 years post-call experience who want a career in transactional and advisory work. The position is based in Lagos.

What you would do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and advisory memoranda
• Handle corporate filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission and other regulatory bodies
• Assist with company secretarial, compliance, and corporate governance matters
• Participate in client meetings, prepare briefs, and take accurate minutes
• Support due diligence exercises and transaction documentation

• Called to the Nigerian Bar
• 1–2 years post-call experience in corporate/commercial practice
• Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills
• Clear interest in non-litigation corporate work
• Proficient with a laptop and standard legal/business software; able to work independently
• Must reside in Calabar, Cross River State
