Junior Design Associate

About this role

Spazio Ideale, a Lagos-based full-service interior design firm, is hiring a Junior Design Associate. The role involves producing quality design deliverables across concept development, FF&E, construction documents, brief writing, and meetings, and participating in all design phases from research to post-occupancy evaluation. The position reports to the Head of Design and supports on-time, on/under-budget project delivery in line with the company’s quality standards. Responsibilities span preparing client presentations, researching materials, reading plans, producing scaled drawings, and developing FF&E specifications under supervision. The role supports thought leadership, growth initiatives, and adheres to internal processes for documentation and change tracking.

What you would do

• Prepare client presentations with mood boards, floorplans, drawings and elevations.
• Research new products and materials for projects.
• Read architectural plans and produce scaled sketches, drawings and room layouts.
• Create furniture shop drawings, specifications, materials, and schedules for construction documents under supervision.
• Participate in selecting furniture systems and specifications.
• Specify and present products, equipment, materials for project implementation.
• Develop FF&E specifications with supervision.
• Engage in design team research and thought leadership initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic growth and business development discussions within the design team.
• Track changes, issue addendums and drawings, and organise project files.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• 1 - 2 years' experience in a Junior Interior Design role.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to hand-sketch solutions on site.
• Experience with quotes, proposals, budgets, purchase orders and purchasing process.
• Previous experience within the Interior Design industry is mandatory.
