IT & Systems Officer
About this role
AMA Medical Manufacturing in Kaduna is seeking its first dedicated IT and Systems Officer to manage all IT for the factory, including network, devices, user accounts, cloud tools and day-to-day support across shifts. The role reports to the Director of Finance & Strategy and involves building the IT function from the ground up. The company operates a Zoho-based environment and uses Excel for operations, with a focus on maintaining network and cybersecurity, asset management and basic IT governance. The position is full-time and onsite at Kudenda Industrial Layout, Kaduna.
What you would do
- Manage the factory internet, Wi-Fi and local network, including ISP management and failover
- Set up, secure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, CCTV and attendance devices with UPS protection
- Administer Zoho Mail, WorkDrive and Books including mailboxes and user access
- Support Excel-based operational tools with version control, backups and access control
- Maintain Zoom for director-level meetings with remote colleagues
- Implement basic cybersecurity measures and IT policies (two-factor, password policy, encryption, backups)
- Build and maintain the IT asset register from scratch
- Scope and manage small IT projects, vendors and procurement recommendations
- Document IT processes and provide day-to-day support across shifts
- Ensure data integrity and offer user-friendly explanations to non-technical staff
What they are asking for
- HND or BSc in Computer Science, IT or related field; NYSC completed
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration, preferably in a factory or operational setting
- Practical networking skills (routers, switches, access points, cabling, Wi-Fi) on a large site
- Solid Windows administration and experience with a cloud suite (Zoho, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365)
- Advanced Excel and clear communication in English
- Self-starter capable of being the sole IT person on site and documenting work
- Based in or willing to relocate to Kaduna
- Useful but not essential: CompTIA, Google IT Support, Microsoft or Cisco certifications; Zoho experience; exposure to industrial equipment and data logging; basic scripting; Hausa language skills
