IT Security Intern
About this role
Ascentech Services Limited is recruiting an IT Security Intern in Lagos. The role supports the Security and IT teams with monitoring, access management, patching, and safeguarding company data. It is a hands-on internship aimed at a focused female graduate seeking practical experience in cybersecurity and corporate IT operations. The position is based in Surulere, Lagos and is suitable for fresh graduates with minimal experience. What you would do
- Provide basic onsite IT support to staff as needed
- Monitor networks and applications for suspicious activity and alerts
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and security issues
- Track hardware, software, and IT licenses
- Promote phishing prevention, strong passwords and safe data handling
- Manage user accounts, password resets and access reviews
- Deploy security patches, software updates and antivirus definitions
- Gather technical logs to assist with incident investigations
What they are asking for
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Female candidate; NYSC completed
- 0–1 year of experience (fresher)
- Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS), operating systems (Windows/Linux), firewalls, encryption and antivirus tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, BTech, or HND or related IT/Cybersecurity disciplines
