IT and Systems Officer

About this role

AMA Medical Manufacturing in Kaduna is seeking its first dedicated IT and Systems Officer to oversee all IT functions at the factory, including networks, devices, user accounts, cloud tools and day-to-day support across shifts. The role involves establishing and maintaining IT infrastructure, managing vendors, and implementing basic cybersecurity and IT policies. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Finance & Strategy and will build the IT function from scratch. The employer operates a Zoho/cloud-based setup and Excel systems and aims to support manufacturing and operational tools. The position is full-time and on-site at Kudenda Industrial Layout, Kaduna.

What you would do

• Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, CCTV and attendance devices with UPS protection
• Manage internet, Wi-Fi and local network across factory, offices and warehouse, including ISP management and failover
• Build and maintain IT asset register from zero
• Support Excel-based operational tools with version control, backups and access control
• Scope small IT projects, manage vendors and advise on purchases
• Implement basic cybersecurity measures and IT policies
• Maintain Zoom for weekly director meetings
• Administer Zoho Mail, WorkDrive and Books including onboarding and offboarding
• Provide day-to-day IT support across shifts
• Document IT systems and configurations as the sole IT person on site

• Clear English and ability to explain fixes to non-technical managers
• Strong practical networking skills for a large site
• HND or BSc in Computer Science, IT or related field; NYSC completed
• Self-starter capable of working as the only IT person on site
• One to three years of hands-on IT support or systems administration, preferably in a factory or operational setting
• Solid Windows administration and experience with a cloud suite (Zoho, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365)
• Advanced Excel
• Desirable but not essential: Zoho experience, Hausa language skills, exposure to industrial equipment or data logging
• Certifications such as CompTIA, Google IT Support, Microsoft or Cisco; basic scripting; exposure to ERP or GMP data integrity
