Investment Manager

About this role

An Investment Manager at Heirs Insurance Ltd in Lagos will oversee the company’s investment portfolio, monitor market conditions and implement investment strategies in line with policy and regulatory guidelines. The role reports to the Chief Finance Officer and handles day-to-day investment activities within the Finance division. It is a middle management role and does not supervise staff.

What you would do

• Manage all aspects of the company’s in-house investment portfolios, including short-term placements, FG bonds, euro bonds, and equities.
• Monitor daily portfolio movements against market indicators such as money market rates, equity prices, bond yields, and USD exchange rates.
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term investment strategies within set goals and risk tolerance.
• Prepare monthly and weekly investment portfolio reports, cash flow forecasts and financial modelling.
• Maintain records of investment assets and income and ensure accounting procedures comply with IFRS and relevant laws.
• Manage relationships with investee companies and financial service providers, and monitor bank service fees.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA) or related discipline is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant investment experience, preferably within insurance or financial services.
• Professional qualifications such as ICAN, CFA or equivalent are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian financial markets.
• Knowledge of IFRS and SEC reporting requirements for investments and other financial instruments.
