Inventory Supervisor

Spectrum Books Limited is looking for an Inventory Supervisor to oversee depot operations across locations in Oyo. The role focuses on managing stock records, coordinating transfers between depots, and leading regular stock counts to ensure accuracy and efficient stock management. The position targets individuals who are organised, detail‑oriented and able to work across multiple depots. The employer aims to maintain accurate stock, strengthen internal controls and support distribution operations in its publishing business.
What you would do
- Supervise all depot activities related to stock
- Ensure smooth depot operations including process flow, space utilisation, stock storage, receipt and issuance
- Conduct regular spot checks at depots
- Perform monthly physical stock counts and reconciliations
- Consolidate depot reports with the accounts department
- Maintain registers/files at depots and ensure they are updated
- Monitor stock movement in transit and report discrepancies
- Coordinate material transfers across depots and ensure efficiency
- Oversee depot replenishment
- Coordinate year-end stock counts per depot and report to the Chief Accountant
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; ICAN an added advantage
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in inventory monitoring, audit, control or distribution oversight
- Experience with third-party or outsourced depot operations is an advantage
- Strong reconciliation and variance analysis skills
- Proficient in Excel and familiarity with inventory systems (ERP or similar)
- Understanding of internal control procedures
- High integrity and attention to detail
- Ability to challenge discrepancies professionally
- Good communication and follow-up skills
- Analytical thinking and ability to work remotely across multiple depot locations
