Inventory Supervisor
About this role
Spectrum Books Limited seeks an Inventory Supervisor to oversee depot operations across locations, monitor and reconcile stock records (physical vs ERP), coordinate stock transfers between depots and supervise periodic stocktakes to ensure accuracy and efficient stock management. The role focuses on supervising depot activities, ensuring proper process flow, space utilisation, stock storage, receipt and issuance of stock, and consolidating depot reports with the accounts team. It requires handling monthly physical stock counts, year-end stock counts per depot, and ensuring spot checks are conducted. The position is based in Ibadan, Oyo and is a full-time role. Candidates should have a background in accounting or finance with inventory control experience and strong Excel and ERP familiarity.
What you would do
- Supervise all depot activities related to stock
- Coordinate transfers of stock/materials across depots
- Ensure monthly physical stock counts and reconciliations
- Oversee depot replenishment processes
- Ensure registers/files are raised and updated at depots
- Coordinate year-end stock counts and report to accounting
- Maintain smooth depot operations in terms of process flow and stock handling
- Consolidate depot-related reports with the accounts department
- Ensure company spot checks on depots are conducted
- Monitor stock movement in transit and report discrepancies
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- ICAN qualification is an added advantage
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in inventory monitoring, audit, control or distribution oversight
- Experience with third-party or outsourced depot operations is advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and understanding of internal control procedures
- Experience with reconciliation and variance analysis
- Familiarity with inventory systems (ERP or basic inventory applications)
- Ability to challenge discrepancies professionally
- Good communication and follow-up skills
- Able to work remotely across multiple depot locations
